Sports Overview

Sport is an integral part of every student’s development, wellbeing, and education, that provides a platform to celebrate the uniqueness of each Vandyans.

By fostering an ‘active life’ philosophy and promoting a lifetime of involvement in sport and physical activity, we generate an ethos focussed on inclusion and mass participation. Sport is not just about physical excellence – it develops the whole person, and in that sense sport at Vandya is both transformative and inspirational. We want all students to enjoy their Sports, seek excellence in their field, and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Our talented and dedicated coaching teams strive to create the best possible environment for students to learn with a judicious mixture of challenge and open communication. We pride in inculcating the finest values of dedication, integrity, and team spirit in our student body.

Students are encouraged to compete with each other by way of inter house and inter school competitions. An academic year is typically infused with several sporting championships. Besides permanent physical education staff, specialist coaches are available year round for students to focus on a single sport, such as Squash, Tennis and Badminton.

The school has a FINA standard half-Olympic indoor all-weather swimming pool along with a separate learners’ pool and a splash pool for our pre-school students..

Our sports facilities have been designed as per international standards for pupils of all age groups to pursue various programmes such as Basketball, Football, Cricket, Tennis, Squash, Badminton, Air Rifle Shooting, Volleyball, Gymnastics, and indoor sports. Our modern gymnasium is at par with international standards for equipment and safety. In the next phase of our development, we would introduce additions to our existing sports infrastructure, to enhance the experience for our students.

We believe that there is no limit to pushing oneself and we at Vandya aim to harbour every available opportunity we can, for your child.
